Tacoma student hits home run with Rainiers jersey design
Tacoma seventh-grader Kelsey Monaghan-Bergson is this year’s winner of the Tacoma Rainiers baseball jersey design contest.
Kelsey, a student at Truman Middle School, submitted a design with an argyle motif that will be worn on the field by the Rainiers on Tacoma School District night on April 23.
Before the game, Kelsey will receive a personalized replica jersey with her design. She and her family will get a tour of Cheney Stadium and she’ll have the opportunity to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
The specialty jerseys will be available for purchase through a silent auction on April 23. Proceeds benefit Tacoma Public Schools.
This is the second year for the contest.
