Peninsula District names five semi-finalists for superintendent’s job

One Pierce County school administrator is among the five semi-finalists who will be interviewed for the job of superintendent in the Peninsula School District.

Chrys Sweeting, currently assistant superintendent in Puyallup, is one of the five. The others:

▪ Bill Fritz, assistant superintendent, Vero Beach, FL

▪ Rob Manahan, superintendent, Lake Chelan, WA

▪ Molly Ringo, assistant superintendent, Everett, WA

▪ Andrew Rogers, superintendent, Buckeye, AZ

The Peninsula School Board will interview the five candidates Saturday March 5 at the District Office. The 8:30 a.m. meeting is open to the public. Observers will be able to provide written feedback.

After the initial round of interviews, the board will narrow the candidate field to three finalists. They will be in the district March 14, 15, and 16 — one candidate each day.

There will be public forums to meet the three finalists on March 14, 15 and 16 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Henderson Bay High School. Community members will have an opportunity to ask questions and complete feedback forms to share with the school board. If you are unable to join a forum, they will be streamed live. Visit www.psd401.net on the actual date to view the livestreams.

The board is seeking a replacement for Superintendent Chuck Cuzzetto, who will resign at the end of the school year. He has been in education for 31 years, and has worked for the Peninsula School District since 1999. He was named superintendent in 2012.
