Washington state Teacher of the Year Nathan Gibbs-Bowling is in Washington , D.C. this week. Gibbs-Bowling, who teaches at Tacoma’s Lincoln High School, was one of four finalists for national teacher of the year. He will join the winner, Jahana Hayes of John F. Kennedy High School in Waterbury, Conn., and two other finalists at a White House ceremony today (Tuesday, May 3) for National Teacher Appreciation Day.
The event is scheduled to get underway at 1:30 p.m. West Coast time. Here’s a link to the live stream from the White House.
