Traffic delays near Puyallup on state Route 512 after driver collides with barrier

A collision on state Route 512 early Monday morning caused some traffic delays for drivers going west toward Puyallup.

The collision was reported about 3:30 a.m. on westbound state Route 512 between Pioneer Way East and South Meridian. Washington State Patrol trooper Robert Reyer said a driver collided with a cable barrier, leaving cables across the road.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, Reyer said in a tweet.

All lanes of traffic were back open by about 8:30 a.m.

Lane closures earlier Monday morning caused some delays. The collision originally blocked all of the westbound lanes. Travelers were diverted to Pioneer Way while maintenance crews pulled the cables back to the left shoulder, according to a tweet from the Washington State Department of Transportation.
