Expect road work, possible delays on this state highway in Pierce County starting next week
Travelers can expect lane closures coming soon along state Route 302 on Key Peninsula.
Starting July 25, crews use alternating one-way traffic between 118th Avenue Northwest and 123rd Avenue Northwest, the state Department of Transportation said in a news release.
Travelers might experience delays Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The delays are expected through the summer and beginning of fall.
Later this summer, a stretch of the highway will be closed for more than a week. According to the release, WSDOT will share the dates the route will be closed once there is a finalized schedule.
The lane closures are necessary so workers can install two culverts to improve fish migration in Little Minter Creek.
