Lane and ramp closures coming to I-5 and SR 167 in Tacoma on Saturday

Drivers using southbound Interstate 5 near the Puyallup River Bridge on Saturday might see lane closures. Crews working for the state Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will be paving in that area along with the southbound state Route 167 on-ramp to southbound I-5.

The Route 167 on-ramp will be closed 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday. The right lane of southbound I-5 from exit 135 to Bay Street will be closed noon-5 p.m.

Because of the ramp closure, drivers will follow a marked detour to the Portland Avenue on-ramp to southbound I-5.

WSDOT warned southbound I-5 travelers that they could see backups during the afternoon.

WSDOT said the work is weather sensitive and could be rescheduled.
