Tacoma man killed in motorcycle crash on state highway in Lewis County

A 37-year-old Tacoma man died Monday when the motorcycle he was riding on state Route 508 in Lewis County collided with an SUV that turned in front of him, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The man was riding east on the highway about two-and-a-half miles west of Cinebar when a red Toyota Rav-4 turned left into a private driveway, and the motorcyclist struck the passenger side of the vehicle, according to a news release issued by state troopers. The incident was reported at about 4:45 p.m.

Troopers identified the man as Ryan W. Osborne. He was declared dead at the scene.

A specific cause of the crash is still being investigated. Osborne was wearing a helmet. State Route 508 is a two-lane highway. Troopers said drugs or alcohol were not suspected to have been factors in the incident.

The driver of the Toyota, a 38-year-old man from Onalaska in Lewis County, was not injured.
