Section of busy Tacoma freeway to be closed until 3 p.m. Here’s what to know
Southbound I-705 from Stadium Way to South 13th Street in Tacoma will be closed Friday morning and afternoon while crews remove debris and graffiti along the road. The work began about 10:15 a.m.
Detours will direct traffic on Pacific Avenue to South 13th Street, as well as traffic on Stadium Way to Commerce and South 13th Street, according to a City of Tacoma press release. The closure will last until 3 p.m.
Tacoma’s Street Operations Division is partnering with the Washington State Department of Transportation to remove garbage and debris dumped illegally, clean up graffiti and maintain vegetation.
