A car and a nearby brush caught on fire on I-5 in Fife after a driver drove off the road Monday afternoon.

According to Tacoma Fire Department spokesperson Joe Meinecke, the driver went off the road and possibly crashed while headed north on I-5 at Mile Post 140.1 near South 375th Street. The car caught on fire, which also caused a large brush fire. Tacoma Fire crews reportedly had the fire under control, but a few northbound lanes were blocked.

The condition of the driver has not been determined.
