One person dead after car crashes into barrier on I-5 near Tacoma, WSP says
A wreck on southbound Interstate 5 near the Tacoma Dome left one person dead Wednesday morning.
A driver struck a barrier and was unresponsive. They were taken to a local hospital where they died, Washington State Patrol Trooper John Dattilo told The News Tribune.
No other vehicles were involved, Dattilo said. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
All of the lanes were blocked at milepost 134.1 for several hours for the emergency response.
