Traffic alert: Semi-truck veers off highway, blocking lane in Puyallup

The left lane on eastbound state Route 512 in Puyallup is closed after a semi-truck veered off the roadway Friday.

The crash occurred near South Meridian and was reported at 12:04 p.m., according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The semi-truck driver was going east when they swerved off the highway and into a ditch. The truck was entangled in cable barriers, and crews were en route to repair them after the vehicle has been towed, Washington State Patrol Trooper Daniel Southard wrote on X.

There are no reported injuries, he said. The left lane was expected be blocked for several hours.

Drivers were asked to be patient with the road closure.
