Traffic alert: Three-car injury crash in Pierce County causes lengthy delays

A three-car crash near Spanaway caused traffic delays Tuesday afternoon.

Two of the right lanes are blocked on southbound state Route 7 near Pacific Avenue South. The crash was reported at 12:47 p.m., according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Two people involved in the crash were taken to a hospital with serious injuries, Washington State Patrol Trooper Kameron Watts told The News Tribune.

The alleged causing driver is in custody on suspicion of DUI. Watts said there is an extensive investigation on the suspected DUI.

Traffic is getting through using the center turn lane.

It was expected to be a lengthy closure, and drivers were asked to use alternate routes.
