The HOV lane and the left lane are blocked on state Route 16 westbound. The crash was reported at 1:49 p.m., according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash. The suspected causing driver was in a Toyota RAV4. He ran off after the crash and not been found, Washington State Patrol Trooper Kameron Watts told The News Tribune.

Watts said there was a woman in the second car who is 20-weeks pregnant. Medical aid was requested as a precaution.

Tows have been called, he said. Once troopers clear the scene, they will try to locate the alleged causing driver. It is unknown if he ran towards Gig Harbor or Tacoma.

Traffic was quickly backing up into Tacoma.
