Southbound state route 167 in South King County reopens following flood closure

Southbound State Route 167 reopened in Kent and Auburn on Wednesday morning after floodwater from the Green River forced an extended closure earlier this week, the Washington State Department of Transportation shared in a press release.

On-ramps to SR 167 are open as well.

Northbound SR 167 will remain closed between South 212th Street in Kent and 15th Street Northwest in Auburn due to water on the highway, the release read.

Northbound on-ramps also are closed at these locations:

  • Northbound SR 167 on-ramp from State Route 18
  • Northbound SR 167 on-ramp from 15th Street Northwest
  • Northbound SR 167 on-ramp from South 277th Street

There is no estimated reopening time for the northbound lanes. WSDOT encourages drivers to use alternative routes, add extra time to their commutes and anticipate more delays along Interstates 5 and 405.
