Update: River Road has reopened after crash closed both directions near Puyallup

Update: The road reopened about 8:30 p.m., WSDOT reported.

Original post: One person is in custody and both lanes of traffic on State Route 167, also known as River Road, are blocked near Puyallup following a car crash Tuesday evening, Washington State Patrol Trooper Kameron Watts told The News Tribune.

The left lane of both directions of SR 167 are blocked starting at 66th Avenue East just northwest of the Puyallup city limits.

One person is in custody for driving under the influence, Watts said. Aid is en route to assist for injuries, and law enforcement officers are on scene directing traffic.

Details of the crash are unclear at this time.

The collision was first reported at 7:01 p.m
