A bicyclist is in serious condition after colliding with a pickup truck on State Route 7 near 52nd Avenue East southeast of Joint Base Lewis-McChord on Wednesday evening, Washington State Patrol reported on X.

Witnesses say the bicyclist was riding his bike across the road when he was struck. A collision technician is en route to the scene to investigate the crash.

There were no arrests made, and no criminal activity is suspected at this time, Trooper Kameron Watts told The News Tribune.

The Washington Department of Transportation first reported the crash at 6:34 p.m.

The northbound lanes of SR 7 are open, while southbound traffic is being redirected at Weiler Road.
