Update, 7:33 p.m.: One person died from a semi-truck versus pickup truck collision on Interstate 5 Friday evening, Trooper Kameron Watts told The News Tribune.

Lanes 1 and 2 are still blocked and there’s no estimated time of when they will clear, Watts said.

Multiple witnesses saw the Chevrolet Avalanche pickup catch fire after the crash with a person entrapped in the flames. Personnel on the scene attempted lifesaving measures on scene, but the driver succumbed to their injuries.

The semi-truck driver was not impaired or injured, Watts said. No arrested have been made at this time.
