If you plan on driving south on Interstate 5 through Fife this weekend, it’s time to plan alternative routes.

Washington Department of Transportation crews will close a portion of the interstate for two nights while they install a brand-new electronic sign.

Southbound I-5 from 54th Avenue to Port of Tacoma Road will close Friday and Saturday night, the department announced on Facebook.

The closure includes the ramps from 54th Avenue to southbound I-5.

Construction begins nightly at 11 p.m. and will reopen by 7:30 a.m. Saturday and 8:30 a.m. Sunday, the post said.
