Head-on collision in Shelton kills Tacoma man, injures JBLM resident
A head-on collision in Shelton left one man dead and another man injured Tuesday afternoon, Washington State Patrol announced in a news release.
At 2:57 p.m., a 36-year-old man from Joint Base Lewis-McChord was driving south on U.S. Route 101 when he lost control of his vehicle near Milepost 346, the release said.
He drove into oncoming traffic, striking a car carrying a 32-year-old Tacoma man and killing him, the release said.
The southbound driver was transported to Mason General Hospital for injuries.
No drugs or alcohol were involved, the release said.
The cause of the incident, as well as any charges against the injured driver, are pending WSP’s investigation.
