Over a dozen vehicles near Lakewood hit debris on I-5. Traffic delays expected

More than 18 vehicles on struck debris that came from a flat-bed truck on I-5 between Tacoma and Lakewood on Friday morning.

The vehicles were on southbound Interstate 5 between 72nd Street and state Route 512, according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Kameron Watts on X at 7:11 a.m.

The truck lost several utility lids on the highway. A dozen vehicles reportedly have flat tires, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation Tacoma account on X.

No one was injured.

The driver was cited for having an unsecured located, and the vehicle was placed out of service, the post said.

Drivers should expect delays in the area.
