I-5 backed up near Lakewood and DuPont

Traffic is backed up on Interstate 5 near Lakewood and DuPont.

According to an alert from the Washington State Department of Transportation, road work happened on Interstate 5 northbound from milepost 114 near the Nisqually Fly-Over to milepost 129 near South 72nd Street/South 74th Street.

The work happened from 2:36 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., the alert said.

As of 4 p.m. on Thursday evening, traffic is clogged on Interstate 5 in both directions.
