Crash on SR 512 ramp near Puyallup causes fatality, snarls afternoon commute

A vehicle collision is fully blocking an on-ramp and two lanes of State Route 512 in Puyallup on Tuesday afternoon.

A collision on the ramp from 31st Avenue and State Route 161 to westbound SR 512 occurred at 4:21 p.m., the Washington Department of Transportation posted on X.

The ramp is fully blocked and two lanes of SR 512 are blocked, the post said.

“Traffic on the mainline is getting by in the left lane, but it’s slow going,” WSDOT said. “We expect this to be a lengthy lane and ramp closure.”

Details of the collision’s dynamics are being investigated, State Trooper Kameron Watts shared on X.
