Woman hospitalized after three-car crash in Tacoma
A 28-year-old woman has been hospitalized after a three-car crash on southbound Interstate 705 in Tacoma early Saturday morning.
According to a news release from the Washington State Patrol, the crash happened at about 1:48 a.m. Saturday morning while all three cars were traveling on southbound Interstate 705 milepost 1, approaching state Route 509.
The 28-year-old Tacoma woman left the roadway and struck a barrier, the release said, then re-entered the freeway slowly.
A 27-year-old man from Spanaway hit the Tacoma woman, then left the roadway and struck a barrier. A 48-year-old man from Tacoma then also hit the 28-year-old Tacoma woman.
“All vehicles came to rest in lanes one, two and three,” the release said.
WSP said there were drugs and alcohol involved, but none of the drivers has been charged with driving under the influence yet. The cause is listed as being under investigation.
The roadway was shut down for two hours and 26 minutes, the release said.
