Motorcyclist dead, both sides of State Route 7 closed after Spanaway crash

A Thursday evening collision in Spanaway left one person dead and is causing major lane closures on State Route 7, according to Washington State Patrol.

A tow truck versus motorcycle collision occurred at 5:59 p.m. on SR-7 and 204th Street East, State Trooper Kameron Watts posted on X.

The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene, Watts told The News Tribune. There aren’t any reported injuries to the tow truck driver.

The northbound and southbound lanes of SR-7 are blocked and drivers are using the shoulders to get past the scene, Watts said. The Washington Department of Transportation will also be on scene redirecting traffic.

Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area as authorities clear the scene.
