Disabled vehicle on I-5 causes traffic backup in Thurston County on Friday

Update: WSDOT’s traffic map shows that the backups have cleared.

Initial post: The Washington State Department of Transportation said on social media that there was a disabled vehicle on northbound I-5 at milepost 112 near Marvin Road and the state Route 510 exit in the Lacey area on Friday afternoon.

According to WSDOT’s post from 1:56 p.m., the two right lanes were blocked because of the vehicle. Traffic appeared to be backed up near the exit on northbound I-5 at 2:30 p.m., according to WSDOT’s traffic cameras.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Kameron Watts could not be immediately reached for more information regarding the vehicle or the traffic backup.

Google Maps showed an 18-minute delay for northbound traffic on I-5 as of 2:30 p.m.
