Expect delays along main route through this part of Pierce County to
Drivers traveling through Milton and Edgewood can expect delays beginning Monday morning.
According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, starting July 13 at 12:01 a.m., the right lane on northbound and southbound State Route 161 will be closed around the clock between South 370th Street and Military Road.
One lane will be open in each direction with delays occurring primarily through the work zone, WSDOT said.
The closure is due to preliminary work on a fish barrier removal project for the summer that will replace three culverts under SR 161.
