Several I-5 exits in Tacoma to close for construction this weekend

Several northbound Interstate 5 exits in the Tacoma area will be closed this weekend, the state Department of Transportation said.

Exit 133 to City Center will be closed from 11 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday. The exit to northbound Interstate 705 will be closed during that period as well.

Crews will close the exit to southbound state Route 7 from 11 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday, from 11 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday, and from 11 p.m. Sunday until 4 a.m. Monday.

Traffic will be detoured via Portland Avenue, as crews work on the I-5 M Street to Portland Avenue HOV project.
