Heartwarming video shows Milwaukee bus driver save lost dogs and help get them home

A Wisconsin bus driver was ending her shift about midnight when she spotted two dogs wandering dangerously close to the road at night.

A dog owner herself, Milwaukee County Transit System driver Jaime Grabowski stopped and leaned out the door, video shows.

“Hey, you two,” Grabowski said. “You need to go home. Right now. You need — come on, come on inside.”

It was about 20 degrees outside and the lost dogs quickly ran to the bus, tails wagging, and jumped inside. Then Grabowski alerted animal control officers to pick up the approximately 2-year-old pit bull and Doberman pinscher, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.

While she waited, the dogs explored the bus and Grabowski played with them.

“Come here, babies. I know,” she said. “Come here. I’m going to get you home.”

And get them home, she did. An animal control officer arrived at the parked bus and loaded the dogs to be taken to the shelter.

The family, which lives about two and a half miles from where Grabowski found the pups, had been out searching all night, officials said.

They reunited with the dogs and got to meet the bus driver who helped, WISN reported.

“I was so happy someone took time out of their day to turn in the dogs and say, ‘I found the dogs,’ Stephanie Gomez, an owner of the dogs, told WISN.
