Missing wife’s blood found on a power saw her husband had borrowed, Oregon cops say

The Albany Police Department has arrested an Oregon man for the murder of his wife after the “bodily tissue and blood” found on a power saw matched her DNA, according to a post on the police department’s Facebook page.

Police have been looking for Tiffany Marie Lazon, 37, who was last seen on December 27, 2019, according police. Her family told officers that she wouldn’t have left town without her cat, phone or her car.

“When they showed up the back door was wide open with all the lights on, and nobody around and I knew then she was gone,” Zoey Sales, Lazon’s mother, told KGW8.

Tiffany Lazon’s husband Craig Lazon was arrested on Jan. 14 for animal neglect and abandonment for Tiffany Lazon’s pet cat, according to police. The animal was released to Tiffany Lazon’s daughter.

Craig Lazon was arrested on a murder charge on Jan. 21 after detectives say they learned that he borrowed a battery-operated saw from a friend. The friend came forward and turned over the saw to police. The Oregon State Crime Lab found “bodily tissue and blood” on the saw and the lab found that it matched Tiffany Lazon’s DNA, police say.

Craig Lazon is due in court on Jan. 22, KOIN reported.
