Hey, doughnut fans! Krispy Kreme just hit Walmart snack aisles with two new products
If you love doughnuts, we have very good news — Krispy Kreme is bringing two new packaged doughnut products to Walmart.
It’s the first time the company has offered individually packaged doughnuts at the retailer after decades in the doughnut business, the company said in the news release.
“For over 80 years, fans all across America have asked us to bring the great taste of Krispy Kreme to their neighborhood,” Chief Marketing Officer Dave Skena said. “Now, with the help of our partners at Walmart we are able to do just that.”
Krispy Kreme and Walmart started rolling out Doughnut Bites and Mini Crullers on Monday, the company said.
Doughnut Bites are bite-sized doughnut holes and come in three flavors — original glazed, chocolate and apple cinnamon. There are four bites per snack sleeve and five sleeves per box, retailing for $3.97, according to Krispy Kreme.
Mini Crullers — twisted doughnuts — are available in original glazed and blueberry. There are two Mini Crullers to a snack sleeve and four per box, also retailing for $3.97, Krispy Kreme said. A 12 ounce box is also available for $3.88.
Krispy Kreme said it will also offer seasonal flavors, kicking things off this summer with Strawberry Doughnut Bites and Lemon Crullers.
To celebrate its new partnership with Walmart, Krispy Kreme is hosting a virtual grand opening Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET with online games, entertainment and celebrity appearances, the company said.
Forty virtual attendees will also get the chance to win free doughnuts for a year, Krispy Kreme said. You can learn more about the virtual grand opening here.
