Need something last-minute on Thanksgiving? These stores will be open
Though several stores will close for Thanksgiving on Nov. 25, a few are staying open to ensure shoppers will have access to their holiday needs, whether it’s a can of pumpkin puree or a throw-away tin to tote your turkey to grandma’s house.
Hours will vary by location, so customers are encouraged to call or check online for when stores will open and close..
Here are some of the stores open on Thanksgiving:
Grocery chains
Whole Foods Market: Hours vary, but most stores will be open from 7 a.m-3 p.m.
Sprouts Farmers Market: All stores open from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Preorders can be picked up until noon on Thanksgiving Day and delivery will also be available, according to a news release.
Kroger and Kroger Co. stores: “Across our footprint, most stores will close at or before 5 p.m. with the exception of select stores,” a spokesperson for the grocery chain told McClatchy News.
Harris Teeter: Stores open at 6 a.m. but will close early at 2 p.m., according to the store’s website.
Albertsons: Most stores are open from 6 a.m.-3 p.m., but check with your store in advance.
Food Lion: The North Carolina-based grocery chain will open stores on Thanksgiving, though hours may vary by location. McClatchy News reached out to Food Lion to confirm specific store hours.
Wegmans: Stores will close at 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving, Nov. 25, and reopen at 6 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 26, a company spokesperson confirmed to McClatchy News.
The following Massachusetts locations will close at 12 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day and reopen at 6 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 26: Burlington, Chestnut Hill, Medford, Northborough and Westwood, according to Wegmans’ website. The Natick store will close at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24 and reopen at 6 a.m. Friday, Nov. 26.
Wegmans in Brooklyn will close at 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving and will reopen Friday, Nov. 26 at 7 a.m.
Pharmacies
CVS Pharmacy: All stores will operate during regular business hours, a CVS spokesperson said. However, some pharmacy locations may reduce their hours or close for the holiday.
Walgreens: Most stores will be open for regular business hours, though some pharmacy locations will have modified hours, a company spokesperson told McClatchy News.
Rite Aid: Nearly all 4,700 stores will open by 9 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, the company announced.
Discount stores
Dollar General: Stores will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., according to the company’s website.
Retailers
Big Lots: Store will open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., according to a news release
Restaurants
Starbucks: Some Starbucks locations will open its doors to customers on Thanksgiving, a company spokesperson told WMAQ-TV. Coffee lovers are encouraged to check the Starbucks app to confirm store hours.
IHOP: The pancake house will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, though hours may vary by location.
