‘Sightseeing’ geese get police escort through Las Vegas Boulevard, video shows

You’ll never know what you may see on the Las Vegas Strip — and a family of geese just wanted to check it out.

A family of geese with two goslings were found roaming Las Vegas Boulevard on Wednesday, April 20, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said.

A police officer had to escort them across the road, according to the department.

Video shows the geese taking their time waddling across the street as a police officer shoos them along.

A police car drove slowly next to the birds to keep them safe until they reached the Wynn Las Vegas resort, video shows.

“As you can see, the family took their time sightseeing,” police said on Facebook. “We hope they are enjoying their stay in Las Vegas! Remember: using a crosswalk is always the best bet!”

Pedestrians along Las Vegas Boulevard were delighted to see the geese along the road, video shows.

People on social media were equally enthusiastic about the geese. Comments about giving the geese a ticket for jaywalking or slowing down traffic poured in after police shared the video.

Some people started taking guesses as to where the geese came from.

“Were they in town for the NFL Draft,” one person joked. “Or are they leftovers from the BTS concerts last weekend?”
