DoorDash driver threatens to shoot woman in the face over canceled order, GA cops say

A DoorDash driver threatened to shoot a woman in the face after she canceled her delivery, according to an incident report from a Georgia police department.

The woman told police that she had tried to order pizza from Pizza Hut on the night of April 20. But she soon got an alert that said her order would be delivered by DoorDash, an online food ordering and delivery platform, according to the report from police in Kennesaw, about 30 miles northwest of Atlanta.

She called the driver through DoorDash to cancel her delivery, and the driver responded with expletives, investigators said. She then asked the driver to bring the pizza back to Pizza Hut so she could pick it up from the restaurant herself, according to the report.

She walked into the store holding her young daughter and started to speak with the managers, the report said.

A few minutes later, two men walked in, one of whom raised his sweatshirt to reveal a handgun, the report said.

The man said, “You lucky you got that baby in your arms or I’d shoot you in the f------ head,” according to the report.

The woman told police that she ran behind the counter to call 911 while the store employees convinced the men to leave.

A spokesman for DoorDash said in a statement that the company is assisting with the investigation.

“What has been reported is seriously concerning and we are urgently investigating in order to take appropriate action,” according to the statement. “We have already contacted law enforcement to assist their investigation in any way we can.”

Kennesaw Police Officer David Buchanan told McClatchy News that police believe the man who threatened the woman was the delivery driver and they have contacted DoorDash to try to identify him. The officer said the woman wants to press charges.
