Paddleboarder fell into Washington lake — and never made it to shore. Search underway
A 39-year-old man never made it to the shoreline after falling off his paddleboard into a Washington lake, the sheriff’s department said.
The man from Sammamish plunged into the water Sunday, May 22, at Lake Keechelus, the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.
Rescuers searched for the man for several hours after he was first reported missing, but they could not find him, deputies said.
A search team began looking for him again on Monday with three trained dogs and an underwater drone.
Lake Keechelus is near the Snoqualmie Pass, about 57 miles southeast of Seattle.
