Want your own ‘handmade mountain and cave’? This house for sale in Virginia has both
A house on the real estate market in Fredericksburg, Virginia, for $399,000 comes with a little something extra — something you never thought you needed.
Until now.
The three-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom residence comes with a “handmade mountain, cave and water feature” in the backyard, the listing on Realtor.com says. The cave has an air of mystery surrounding it since the listing doesn’t offer photos of the inside.
Other features inside the spacious 2,113-square-foot house include:
Original hardwood floors
Walk-in closet in the primary bedroom
Laundry chute
1400-square-foot basement
Basement crawl space
Brick garage
Fans of the popular Facebook real estate page Zillow Gone Wild were both amused and puzzled by the backyard cave along with the interior of the home.
“Why does every room in this house look like a restaurant in the 90s?” one person asked.
“What kind of scam is this? I wanna see in the cave,” someone said. “Is there gold in there? Or maybe a genie’s lamp? I need answers.”
“I know exactly where this is!” another commented. “You can see the cave from the road and I’ve always wondered what it was!”
“I need to see the cave before I can commit,” one person said.
“I see somebody actually bought those DIY fiberglass cave playhouse plans that were going around in the 80s and 90s,” someone mentioned. “It’s like living on a mini golf course.”
“Love a rancher with good bones,” another said. “The cave is the extra bedroom for my snoring husband.”
“Realtor: ‘Forget the She Shed!’ (slaps side of wall) ‘the Barn Cave is the next big thing!’ someone joked.
Fredericksburg is about 59 miles north of Richmond.
