A suburban castle in Chicago confuses Zillow Gone Wild. ‘Where’s the dungeon?’
When picturing a storybook-like castle, the first image that ofetn comes to mind is an elaborate stone building towering over rolling green hills or an enchanted forest area.
What usually is not pictured is a structure tucked away on a row of run-of-the-mill houses, sticking out like a sore thumb.
But that appears to be the case with this unique residence on the real estate market in Chicago for $699,999.
“Honey-STOP THE CAR!!” the listing on Zillow.com says. “Presenting the one and only Bridgeport Castle! This Unique Single Family Home boasts 3 full levels of living space!”
On the outside, the five-bedroom, three-bathroom home looks like a small castle, but its 1,800-square-foot interior doesn’t appear to match the regal exterior.
Sure, it has a some pretty sweet amenities including:
Formal dining room
Coffered ceiling
Patio/balcony
“Loft style recreational room”
Laundry room
Bar
Terrace
Fans flocked to the popular social media real estate page Zillow Gone Wild in order to throw out their opinion on the residence. And, of course, crack some jokes.
“You need a big personality for this house,” one person observed.
“Castle? It’s a basic house wearing party hats filled with the most boring furnishings ever,” another said.
“It looks remarkably normal on the inside,” someone commented. “I mean, where’s the dungeon? I’m disappointed in the lack of dungeon.”
“This is why HOAs are important!” one person remarked.
“Once again, zero love for dragons. One bleedin’ lizard on a coffee table doesn’t count,” another tweeted.
“On one hand this is hilarious, on the other it answers the question ‘why is design review important,’” someone said.
“Dibs,” one person commented.
