A house that’s recently landed on the real estate market in Lexington, Massachusetts, for $2.5 million is a tad on the bewildering side – but in the coolest way possible.

It’s called Blue Sky Farm and is “juxtaposing old and new” with a farmhouse that was built in 1936 that includes a “futuristic wing with a circular entry & curved lines of floor-to-ceiling glass,” according to the listing on Compass.

The story goes back to when architect Christopher Janney turned the farmhouse into something spectacular when he and his family moved into it in 1989, Realtor.com says.

His house was the original farmhouse; that’s why it looks like two different architectural styles conjoined,” listing agent Donna Marcantonio told Realtor.com. “He purchased the property in 1989 and added on the contemporary wings in the early 2000s. That’s where he really brought in his own vision and style.”

Also on the property are two “former greenhouses” turned into work spaces, which the listing describes as the “purest expression of the live/work model.”.

“One is now a wood shop and the other is a studio,” Marcantonio told Realtor.com. “He has a conference room in there so it is set up as a hybrid, work-from-home space.”
