A 12-year-old girl is hospitalized in critical condition after she fell from a hayride and was run over by the trailer, authorities in Oklahoma said.

Vinalee Follmuth had just turned 12 days before the “horrible freak accident” on Saturday, Oct. 29, according to loved ones fundraising for her family via GoFundMe.

“She ended up falling head-first under the trailer and getting run over,” Reanna Marie Schaapveld said on behalf of Vinalee’s mother.

State troopers responded to the collision about two miles east of Grove in Delaware County, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Authorities said a 60-year-old man from Delaware was driving the Kubota tractor eastbound on a country road when the girl fell off at about 7 p.m. The cause of the incident is under investigation, though troopers said the driver’s condition was “apparently normal.”

Roads were wet and it was rainy at the time, according to the report.

Vinalee, of Delaware, was one of 15 passengers on the ride at the time of her fall, officials said. Nine of the passengers were children.

Troopers said she was taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa with head, arm, trunk and leg injuries.

“She has a very long recovery but we are blessed she survived,” aunt Sharri Beery Follmuth said on Facebook.

Grove is about 90 miles northeast of Tulsa and 65 miles southeast of Delaware.
