Silver Dollar City has been fined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration months after a worker died at the Missouri theme park.

The maintenance and construction worker, who has not been publicly identified, died following the incident on Wednesday, July 20, McClatchy News reported.

Officials said the worker had head injuries “sustained during maintenance and testing of a roller coaster,” KOLR reported.

Silver Dollar City, near Branson in southwest Missouri, called the worker “a dedicated and passionate member” of its family, according to a statement given to the Branson Tri-Lakes News.

A $14,502 fine was recently levied against the park by OSHA.

“We have worked with OSHA over the past several months to review the employee accident that took place earlier this year, which included discussions regarding our voluntary revisions to safeguarding measures in restricted areas,” Silver Dollar City told KY3. “OSHA has reviewed and accepted these changes, training for which has been implemented with the appropriate personnel.”
