Tire flies off speeding driver’s car, smashes another car’s windshield, Utah cops say
A tire flew off a speeding driver’s car and struck another car’s windshield, Utah troopers said.
The driver was “traveling too fast” when they lost control of their car on Interstate 15 in Bountiful, the Utah Highway Patrol said in a Wednesday, Jan. 18, Facebook post.
The driver struck the highway barrier, which sent the front driver side tire, with the rim and tie-rod attached, flying into another vehicle in southbound traffic, troopers said.
Troopers said the driver in the other car suffered a cut on her head from the incident.
Photos show the car with a shattered windshield and a gaping hole in the roof.
“It’s cold out and with intermittent snow fall, the roads are going to be slick, please slow down. Your actions affect all those around you!” troopers said in the post.
Bountiful is about 10 miles north of Salt Lake City.
