Estate for sale in California is a ‘wine country dream’ — and owned by ex-NFL player
Former NCAA college football big hitter and ex-NFL player Terry Hoage (of UGA fame) has listed his gorgeous estate in wine country in California for $7 million.
Hoage, along with his interior designer wife Jennifer, present the home, which sits on 26 acres and has a primary residence, guest house, workshop and studio. But the main focal point of the Paso Robles estate is the 17.5 acre vineyard, tasting room and winery.
“With wine awarded 98 points from Robert Parker Wine Advocate to features in Bloomberg, grapes grown here sell for top dollar to wine collector favorites like Saxum, Turtle Rock and Torrin,” the listing on Vineyard Professional Real Estate says. “Make your signature mark with a 3,000 sq. ft. winery complete with a use permit to process up to 3,000 cases of wine per year, store case goods, and conduct public wine tastings.”
Features in and around the primary home include:
Private patios
Expansive windows
Views
Chef’s kitchen
Wine cooler
Gardens
Pond
Fruit trees
Swimming pool
Large spa
In the 1980s, Hoage played for Georgia and helped the team win the national championship in 1980 and was voted fifth for the Heisman Trophy in 1983. He was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the third round of the 1984 NFL draft, his biography notes. In 2000, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
Listing is held by Jenny Heinzen.
Paso Robles is about a 40-mile drive north of Pismo Beach.
