61-year-old is stabbed to death in her sleep by 24-year-old son, New Jersey cops say
A 24-year-old man was arrested after being accused of stabbing his mom while she slept, New Jersey officials said.
On June 3, Robert Parody is accused of going into the bedroom where his mother, Loretta Parody, was sleeping and stabbing her in the chest, according to a news release by Monmouth County Prosecutors.
Officers arrested Parody at the Howell Township home and later charged him with murder, officials said.
His mom, who was a real estate agent, was taken to the hospital where she later died, prosecutors said.
Officials didn’t specify what led to the stabbing.
“There was no other way to describe her than an angel,” Parody’s co-worker, Rosa Cavallaro, told the Asbury Park Press. “She was a great person and she’s going to be missed.”
Parody was transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, officials said.
Anyone with information is asked to call 800-533-7443, officials said.
Howell Township is about a 30-mile drive southeast of Trenton.
