Castle-like compound is priciest home for sale in Texas. Check out the massive estate
A home that was inspired by two of the most famous landmarks in the country has landed on the real estate market in Houston, Texas.
And it happens to be the most expensive residential property currently on the market in not only the city, but in the entire Lone Star State, according to a Realtor search.
It’s called The Lodge, and it’s listed for a whopping $49.985 million.
“‘The Lodge’ at Hunters Creek is a compound with two full houses on approximately 9 acres of a peninsula along Buffalo Bayou,” the listing on Sotheby’s International Realty says.
“Inspired by Hearst Castle and the Biltmore Estate, the owner and architect Ken Newberry collaborated to design this landmark structure of Indiana limestone, steel, and concrete. Custom architectural details and hand-selected antiques, including the Parisian library spiral staircase and European fireplaces, enhance the property.”
Features, per the listing, in and around the 16,611-square-foot property include:
Grand foyer
Formal dining room
Salon
Library
Bar
Swimming pool
Spa
Pool house
Gravel driveway
Guard house
Garage
Generator
Sport court
There’s even a two-bedroom guest lodge with its own private pool and spa for out-of-town guests.
The listing is held by Walter Bering and Mary Elizabeth Hahnfeld of Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty.
