A 16-year-old boy died from injuries he sustained in a crash that killed his 11-year-old brother days earlier, according to reports in Texas.

The June 25 crash in Gardendale also reportedly left the brothers’ 13-year-old sibling and their mother with serious injuries.

The Garcia family was traveling in a GMC Acadia when their SUV was struck by the driver of a Chevrolet truck, who failed to yield the right of way, according to a crash report obtained by KMID.

Argen Garcia, 11, was pronounced dead following the crash, the City of Odessa said in a Facebook post. His 16-year-old brother, Axell Garcia, died Sunday, June 30, the city said.

Loved ones said in a GoFundMe that the siblings’ other brother, Aceyn Garcia, was injured but had been showing signs of improvement. Their mother, Angie Garcia, broke multiple bones and underwent multiple surgeries.

The organizer of the GoFundMe said the mom and son will need months of physical therapy. The Gardendale and neighboring Odessa communities of west Texas have rallied behind the family.

They are the sweetest family,” Erin Colleen Dean said on Facebook.

Iram Sanchez, the boxing coach at Gorilla Heavy Hitters where the Garcia siblings trained, describe Argen and Axell as “warriors.”

Such an amazing kid with so much charisma and a heart of GOLD!” Sanchez said of Argen. “Just like his entire beautiful family. This kid never quit on me no matter how hard I pushed him.”

“This kid was the true definition of a true gentleman!” Sanchez said of Axell. “Always so respectful and so hard working in the gym and out of the gym. He was always so supportive of his brothers.”
