Lottery ticket worth $1 million sold at Florida Publix. Here’s where
A lottery player turned a $50 scratch-off ticket from Publix into a much bigger prize in Florida.
Angel Colon of Hillsborough County won $1 million in the $1,000,000 A Year For Life Spectacular game, the Florida Lottery said Oct. 15.
She bought her lucky ticket at the Publix Super Market at Lake Juliana in Auburndale.
She beat the 1-in-185,709 odds to win a second-tier prize, which she claimed at lottery headquarters in Tallahassee as a one-time payout of $640,000, lottery officials said.
The $50 scratch-off game debuted in February 2023 and one top prize remains, according to lottery records.
The Polk County Publix received a $2,000 bonus for selling the ticket, officials said.
Colon is from Plant City, which is part of the Tampa Bay area.
