Two tiny, frolicking pigs get into trouble near busy NY street. Then ‘hero’ rushes in
Two devastatingly cute animals found themselves getting into some dangerous shenanigans in a road in Buffalo — but a “hero” stepped in.
Two little pigs — one an orangish, light tan shade, the other dark with patches of taupe fur — were too busy trying to have fun to notice they were about to get themselves into a perilous situation involving cars.
“Imagine this: after a long day at work, you’re driving home when you spot something a bit out of the ordinary,” the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Serving Erie County, New York, said in a Jan. 9 Facebook post.
“Your neighbors are darting across the road, all hustle and bustle as they try to catch something,” the group said. “Curious, you pull over to see what’s happening and discover they’re chasing after two adorable little pigs near Grant Street in Buffalo!”
Thankfully, a rescuer came across the odd sight.
“This is where our hero, Eric, steps in. Without missing a beat, he jumps into action to help wrangle the little oinkers. Luckily for everyone, Eric has some experience with pigs, so he knows exactly how to coax them out of the chilly weather,” the shelter said. “He grabs a dog crate, tosses in some tasty apples, and patiently waits for the pigs to come over.”
Eric’s patience and knowledge paid off, and he managed successfully help the pigs.
“Thanks to his quick thinking, Eric successfully captured both pigs and brought them inside to keep them warm,” the shelter continued. “He gave them a nice bath, made a cozy bedding area with Timothy Hay, and started brainstorming what to do next with his new little friends.”
He found out that the Erie SPCA has an Educational Farm section so he was able to get them safely over.
“These little pigs are now safe and sound, thanks to Eric’s quick thinking and kind heart,” the shelter said.
