A Colorado lottery player has been playing games “on and off for 20 years.”

But in those two decades, he’s never scored anything close to his recent win on a $25 Million Cash Explosion scratch ticket, Colorado Lottery officials said in a March 27 news release.

After scratching his $20 ticket that he bought at a Safeway in Grand Junction, he and a friend were left screaming, lottery officials said.

“I won a million dollars!” the man said upon examining his ticket.

The full-time father told lottery officials he already has plans for his big win: “Take my kids to Disneyland.”

Another Colorado lottery player also recently took home a big win from a scratch-off ticket.

A Colorado Springs man scored a $42,000 win on his $2 Super 7-11-21 scratch ticket, lottery officials said.

The retired man told lottery officials he simply plans to “enjoy” his win.

Grand Junction is about a 240-mile drive southwest from Denver.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
