90-year-old lured 9-year-old into home and sexually assaulted her, OR cops say
A 90-year-old man is accused of luring a girl into his home in Oregon and sexually assaulting her, deputies said.
Authorities got a call from the girl’s parents June 2, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
The 9-year-old girl went into his home where deputies said he sexually abused her.
Melvin Durmont Wofford was arrested the next day on charges of sex abuse and sodomy, deputies said.
The investigation is ongoing, and deputies said no other information is being released.
There is no threat to the public, authorities said.
Lane County is in Western Oregon and includes Eugene.
