Rescue teams come together to save deer in water at NY naval park. See photos
Rescue teams in New York worked together to save a deer stuck in water at a naval park.
The deer was in the water at the Buffalo and Erie County Naval and Military Park on June 7, according to a Facebook post.
Photos posted on Fire Buff New York’s Facebook page show the deer in the Buffalo River stuck between on the side of the USS Croaker submarine, with most of the animal’s body submerged in the water.
The Buffalo Fire Department and the SPCA Serving Erie County’s wildlife department worked together to pull the deer to safety, WGRZ reported.
Video posted to Fire Buff New York’s Facebook page shows the moment the deer was pulled from the water. Crews can be seen using a wooden stick with rope to pull the deer out from next to the ship to an open air where it could be lifted to safety.
The rescue took about 30 minutes, Buffalo Fire Commissioner William Renaldo told WGRZ
