Powerball player wins big in Georgia. Where was the lucky ticket sold?
A Powerball player in Georgia won $50,000, just missing the $102 million jackpot, lottery officials say.
The ticket matched four winning numbers and the Powerball in the drawing Wednesday, June 18, the Georgia Lottery said.
The lucky ticket was sold at Duluth Food Mart in Duluth, about a 30-mile drive northeast from Atlanta, lottery officials said in an email to McClatchy News.
Nobody won the grand prize, which rises to an estimated $118 million, with a cash value of about $53.4 million, for the next drawing Saturday, June 21, the national Powerball site said.
The winning numbers were 23, 29, 50, 64 and 67, with a Powerball of 11. The Power Play multiplier was 2x.
Nearly 340,000 other Powerball tickets sold in the United States — including a $50,000 win in North Carolina — also won prizes ranging from $4 to $100,000, the lottery said.
The Powerball jackpot was last won May 31, when a California player hit the $204.5 million grand prize.
